About me
Dr. Middleton has been a theologian/ethicist from 1973 till the present for a total of 50 years, 45 of which have been in Catholic Health Care. Carl holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky, a master’s degree in Moral Theology from the University of Detroit, a Doctor of Ministry Degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, a Master of Religious Education Degree and a Master of Divinity Degree from SS. Cyril & Methodius Seminary in Orchard Lake, Michigan.
Dr. Middleton also has an extensive work record including teaching ethics in a Catholic Seminary, nursing schools, medical residency programs, and several universities: serving as Vice President for Theology and Ethics for several Catholic Health Systems. He is currently serving as Immediate Past President of the Colorado Healthcare Ethics Forum Board.
Dr. Middleton is a noted lecturer and has co-authored five books/manuals: Teaching the Ten Commandments Today, Ethics Committees: A Practical Approach, Integrative Health Care: an Emerging Approach to the Art of Healing, Ethics Committee Resource Manual and Healing Ministry in the Age of Genetics.
