About me
Dr. Dawn Owens Robinson (she, her, hers) was born where CU Anschutz sits now, as her father was an active-duty Marine. As a Denver native, Dr. Owens Robinson attended DPS schools and graduated from George Washington High School. As a child, she was active in martial arts, dance, cheerleading, and skating with her family across the city of Denver.
Dr. Owens Robinson graduated with her Bachelor’s degree from CU Boulder and then matriculated to the University of Cincinnati, where she attained her medical degree. She now works, near Boulder, as an OB/GYN with over 23 years of experience. She also serves as a medical malpractice expert witness and consultant. Dr. Owens Robinson has been an active member in several women’s health committees including Kalamazoo & St Joseph County Fetal Infant Mortality Review Committees as well as Michigan and Colorado State Maternal Mortality Surveillance Review Committees, among others.
Dr. Owens Robinson has practiced in rural Utah and Michigan and at tertiary referral centers in Dubai, UAE; Georgia, Michigan & Indiana. Obstetrics is her love. She has practiced as a full-scope OB/GYN and a laborist. During these roles, she has witnessed and objected to healthcare biases and disparities. Currently, Dr. Owens Robinson is an Ob/Gyn with Advent Health.
Dr. Owens Robinson recently joined the University of Colorado Foundation Board of Trustees in November 2023. Those who know her, know this to be a full-circle moment. She has been active on CU’s Boulder campus since returning to Colorado in October 2022. Dr. Owens Robinson is also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc.
Dr. Owens Robinson currently lives near Boulder with her family and dog.
