About me
Emily is a licensed clinical social worker and has worked at UCHealth for the last 7 years. She started as a medical social worker and transitioned to the role of guardianship social worker for the UCHealth system where she developed a true passion for working with patients and care teams around capacity considerations. Through this work, she was exposed to the legal, medical and ethical frameworks of decision-making capacity and how best to honor patient autonomy within each of these realms. While she now works with the post-acute care team, assisting with complex patient transitions from the hospital, capacity considerations will always be at the forefront of her work, and she hopes to continue to utilize her experiences for ongoing education and advocacy. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband and infant daughter as well as their dog and cat. Together, they work on DIY home renovation projects and look forward to sharing their love of travel and all that Colorado has to offer with their daughter.
