About me
Professor Jensen Fisher oversees the Urban Underserved Enrichment Track at RVUCOM, a dynamic program he initiated in 2018. This program immerses osteopathic medical students in the complexities of serving urban underserved communities. Presenting alongside a select group of his second-year students who have completed their preclinical portion of the track, Professor Fisher highlights the transformative educational journey these students undergo.
The course not only equips students with essential clinical skills but also instills a profound sense of social responsibility and a commitment to healthcare equity. Through strategic collaborations with community organizations, the program enables students to experience a seamless integration of classroom learning with practical applications. This approach enhances their ability to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those they serve, preparing them to address a range of health and social issues prevalent in urban, underserved areas.
