About me
Tonie Moore is the Director of Nursing for the Primary Care, Urgent Care, Outpatient Diabetes Management, and the Dental Programs for Ambulatory Care Service at Denver Health and Hospital. Currently, Tonie is the Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging Co-Chair for the organization. In addition, she has over 28 years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry.
Tonie earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, Master of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership, and Leadership and Management Certification from Regis University. Additionally, she is an adjunct faculty member for the Healthcare Management Program at the University of Denver, where she teaches a Health Equity and Justice course. As Adjunct Faculty for University of Denver, Tonie continues to strive for ways to bring awareness to Health Equity and Social Justice by educating students through the development of course curriculum that focus on the impact of bias on patient care/population health in the U.S. healthcare system, and developing strategies aimed at making substantive positive changes.
Tonie is a current board member for the University of Denver Healthcare Management Advisory Board and the previous board member for the Colorado Organization of Nurse Leaders. In addition, she’s a member of the National Association of Health Services Executives and American Organization of Nurse Leaders.
Tonie’s healthcare role has been instrumental in supporting employees by creating opportunities to succeed through career ladder development, creating new clinical roles, and developing standard work related to onboarding and retention.
Tonie is a Colorado native; she is married and has three beautiful daughters. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, participating in community events, and spending time with family and friends. She is passionate about supporting and empowering women in achieving success while creating a renewed since of purpose and peace through her LLC “Believing in Her.”
